The unit replaces the now discontinued Sony UP-51MD.
The new UP-55MD is ideal for diagnostic imaging systems and has applications in medical facilities that provide ultrasound imaging and endoscopy.
The printer is also an ideal peripheral for mobile C-Arm units and other medical and scientific applications.Featuring a smaller footprint than its predecessor, the UP-55MD medical printer also provides an advanced feature to easily capture system images:
a Sony MicroVault" 128 MB Flash Memory portable storage device packaged with the printer.
Users can now insert any USB device into the printer to download still images from the printer.
These images can then be downloaded to any compatible PC or laptop computer for medical reporting, PowerPoint? presentations, referrals, consultations, or educational purposes.
Currently, the flash memory functions as a uni-directional device, meaning that images cannot be printed on the printer directly from the USB Flash Memory device.In addition to the new MicroVault flash memory, the UP-55MD produces photo-like quality five by seven inch A5 prints in only 20 seconds.
The unit also features a smaller footprint than its predecessor at 11 1/8 inches wide and 15? inches deep.
The dye sublimation printer provides standard 379 dots per inch resolution with over 256 gradations for yellow, magenta, and cyan resulting in over 16 million color gradations.
Inputs include RGB, S-Video, and Composite.
Output can be printed in one, two, four or eight up format.
